FIGHTING CHANCE PRESENTS AN EPIC CONCERT PRODUCTION OF TONY-AWARD WINNING MUSICAL FEATURING A CAST OF OVER 50 AND A 20 PIECE ORCHESTRA

Fighting Chance Productions continues its ground breaking 10th season with RAGTIME, an in-concert production of the Tony-Award-winning musical about the mixture of cultures and ethnicities in America at the turn of the century. Ragtime features an incredible score by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty that mixes musical styles including the ragtime rhythms of Harlem and Tin Pan Alley the klezmer of the Lower East Side, bold brass band marches, delicate waltzes, up-tempo banjo tunes, period parlour songs and expansive anthems.

“When Ragtime played at the now closed Ford Centre for the Performing Arts in the summer of 1998 I saw it four times,” says director Ryan Mooney, “and I've been enamoured with the show, music and topic ever since. While the production itself is epic and larger than anything Fighting Chance' has done in the past, we felt we could do justice to the music with an incredible cast and orchestra under the baton of Adam Da Ros, our music director for two of last season's hits, Murder Ballad and the best-selling production in FCP history – Cats. We're thrilled to have four Canadian Actor's Equity Association artists performing with us, including Warren Kimmel, one of the best musical theatre performers in Canada.”

At the dawn of a new century, everything is changing and anything is possible. Set in the volatile melting pot of turn-of-the-century New York, the tales of three distinctly American tales are woven together – a stifled upper-class wife, a determined Jewish immigrant and a daring young Harlem musician – united by their courage, compassion and belief in the promise of the future.

RAGTIME stars WARREN KIMMEL, MARIE WEST, LANE PRICE, CHERYL MULLEN, BRANDON THORNHILL, CECILLY DAY, MARK WOLF, DEBBIE KAGY, IAN BACKSTROM, ADAM OLGUI, RACHEL GARNET, JP MCLEAN and GORD MANTLE and features STEPHANIE ARSENAULT, DIANA BALE, ASHLEY BURTON, KADEN CHAD, ARIEL DIAZ, GINA FOSTER, AMY GARTNER, BRENT GILL, TENANYE HAGLUND, RAYMOND HATTON, CASSANDRA HUSK, PAULA NIKOLAI IROLA, DAMON JANG, JAGEN JOHNSON, KRIS KURUWERI, AMANDA LAU, RANA LAVIOLETTE, KARA MACLAUCHLAN, BEA MARTIN, RAYMOND PAI, ALINA QUARIN, MELISSA RATCLIFF, JANELLE REID, MAXIME REJOUIS, ETHAN SHANKARUK, ROAN SHANKARUK, NAZANIN SHOJA, ASHLEY SIDDALS, PETER SLADE and TIANA SWAN.
