Arts Club On Tour presents A timeless love story unfolds on a moonlit porch in Coley’s Point, 1926. Young Jacob Mercer (Charlie Carrick) has returned home to Newfoundland to win back the heart of his soul mate, Mary (Abby Creek). But can he overcome the forces that have kept them apart? Will love blossom by the light of a salt-water moon? Salt-Water Moon is one of a quintet of semi-autobiographical plays that David French wrote about his hometown and the fictional Mercer family. The others in the series are Soldier’s Heart, 1949, Leaving Home, and Of the Fields, Lately. Salt-Water Moon has been honoured with numerous awards including the Chalmers Award, the Canadian Authors Association Award for Drama, the Dora Mavor Moore Award for Best New Play, and the Hollywood Drama-Logue Critics’ Award. There have been hundreds of productions of this Canadian classic all over the world.
