Canary, by Liesl Lafferty
“Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less.”
~Marie Curie~

Canary is a comedy about Lily, a young woman who is struck with a mysterious and debilitating aversion to artificial light. Has technology outraced our ability to adapt? Her journey causes us to think about the invisible toxic world we all live in and raises the question, ‘Are you next?’

Press reviews from the Toronto Fringe 2009:

“The sarcastic, sometimes angry humour comes through loud and clear…” Jon Kaplan, NOW Magazine.

“Lawrence is so convincing… one expects her to flinch when the lights go up. The cast never falters and stage management surpasses expectations…” Caroline Lock, EYE Weekly.

Chaos Collective, with the permission of Canadian Actors’ Equity, presents Canary, written and directed by Liesl Lafferty, featuring Lori Triolo, Heidi Lynne Weeks, Hilary Strang and Robin Richardson, stage managed by Isobella Goldin.

Please note: Partial proceeds from the Saturday, Sept. 18 performance will be donated to Earth Hour, through the World Wildlife Fund.
