Enter the Swamp – a realm where there are no distinctions between good and evil… You will never be the same again!

Created by teen theatre dynamos Anais West and Veronique West, Lust of the Swamp Witch is a call to the myth, magic and abandon of the ancient world, as well as a provocative exploration of our modern-day ideas about wrong, evil and perverted. Vera, the self-proclaimed Swamp Witch, surrounds herself with Salvation Army junk and mythic rituals instead of facing an early mid-life crisis and the bog-beasts circling her Everglades trailer. But into her charge has come her rebellious, horny, teenage half-brother, eager to challenge the boundaries of right and wrong that adults have set for him—and if true "wrong" can be as elusive as witches and bogeymen, are there limits to the possibilities between two people?

Premiering at the 2010 Vancouver Fringe Festival, Lust of the Swamp Witch boasts a cast of talented, local Vancouver youth: Chilko Tivy, winner of the Outstanding Actor Award in the SEARS British Columbia Drama Festival, as Vera and Nathaniel Hanula-James as her half-brother, Jack. Writers/Directors Anais West and Veronique West are gifted young local writers who honed their skills in Arts Club’s LEAP Playwriting Intensive for Teens.

As a part of the Vancouver Fringe Festival, tickets and information for Lust of the Swamp Witch are available at the door at Carousel Theatre (1411 Cartwright Street, Granville Island) or online at www.vancouverfringe.com. The fringe box office hotline can be reached at 604.637.6380.
