Rejoice in the presence of HRH Regina II as she delivers for the people her North American Premiere show, rewritten for the Canadian public, Brown Girl In the Ring, during her province visit to Vancouver Fringe Festival 2010.

Brown Girl In the Ring is a tragic-comic monologue, a regal meditation on bigotry from a Royal Highness with a difference. ‘The possibility that black people would be biologically connected to the European royal families has never been so outrageously explored and exploded’.

Regina II, Queen of the new British Empire, no longer a celebrity to the Canadians, but head of the DNA Canadian family, is a genetic throwback who pops up five hundred years down the line to turn a few faces very red indeed.

This marauding monarch, connoisseur of champagne ‘n’ poutine ‘n’ sushi is back, and she’s black – and in the new millennium there’s no way she’s going to be swept under the carpet.

She is claiming to be the true Queen of England. Is it plausible or is she barking mad? Come and find out for yourself, don’t miss out on this astonishing claim to the British Throne.
