Suspicion and suspense, resentment and obsession, menace and distorted relationships ... these complex elements all emerge from the simple meeting of two strangers on a train.
Metro Theatre is proud to present Craig Warner’s stage adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s novel, Strangers on a Train. The story is best known through Alfred Hitchcock’s 1951 movie of the same name. Strangers on a Train is a gripping psychological thriller about the darker side of human nature. When weakness encounters evil, no-one comes away unscathed.
In the dining car of a train, talented architect Guy Haines (Darren Chapel) meets pushy playboy Charles Bruno (Richard Bernard). A chance encounter turns into a series of morbid confrontations as Bruno manipulates his way into Guy's life. Bruno hates his father, and Guy wants to marry the beautiful Anne (Claire Lindsay) but cannot get a divorce from his wife. To solve both their problems, Bruno suggests the perfect murder. Though Guy refuses, it will not be so easy to rid himself of the psychopathic Bruno.
Strangers on a Train is a tense mystery directed by well-known Vancouver personality, Paul Kloegman. Supporting roles are convincingly played by Rosalyn Winther as Elsie Bruno, Michael Adams as Meyers, Harry Seddon as Gerard and Julian Paul as Treacher.

The play runs Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from February 18 to March 18 at Metro Theatre in Vancouver. Curtain time is 8:00 pm. Metro Theatre is located at 1370 SW Marine Drive, at the foot of the Arthur Laing Bridge.
