Langley Players continues its 50th season with Of the Fields, Lately
Of the Fields, Lately by David French opens on January 23rd at the Langley Playhouse. This play follows the fortunes of the Mercer family, expat Newfoundlanders living in Toronto. Son Ben returns after a long absence to attend his aunt's funeral, only to discover that his father has recently suffered a heart attack. Ben's father has been advised not to go back to work, but feels he must provide for his family. Ben is faced with a decision: should he go back to his life, or should he stay to provide for his family, thus saving his father's life?

David French received many awards for his work, including the Chalmers Award for Of the Fields, Lately. The play has been staged in theatres across the country and also had a successful run on Broadway.

Of the Fields, Lately runs Wednesdays to Sundays from January 23 to February 15 at the Langley Playhouse, 4307 - 200 Street in Brookswood.
Show times are 8:00pm. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with Sunday matinées at 2:00pm.
Tickets are $20 for all performances.
Students can purchase $15 tickets for the Wednesday performances.
