DREAMQUEEN IMMERSIVE RETURNS TO VANCOUVER WITH THE LAST RESORT, A MUST-SEE END-OF-A-LIFETIME THEATRE EXPERIENCE
Dreamqueen Immersive's acclaimed hit The Last Resort – praised by Stir Magazine as "part campy, part metaphysical, and full of feverish nostalgia" – returns to Vancouver in February 2026 for an extended run at the historic Waldorf Hotel.
Featuring new secrets, expanded interactive elements, and a guided puzzle hunt designed to deepen the experience for returning guests, this remount also includes two special Friday the 13th performances: the Extra Eerie and Extra Spicy shows.
Fresh off a sold-out run of Mr. Nowhere's Disappearing Reappearing Starlight Carnival at the Vancouver Fringe Festival, the creative minds behind Dreamqueen Immersive invite audiences to escape the winter chill and step into a tropical purgatory paradise – where the sun never sets, the drinks are always flowing, and guests can never leave... or can they?
Seventeen performers animate two floors of tropical club lounges at Vancouver's historic Waldorf Hotel, guiding audiences through an 80-minute immersive journey with over 200 scenes unfolding simultaneously. Will you follow the faded movie starlet clinging to her last gasp of relevance? The snooty concierge struggling to maintain order? Or the playboy convinced he can buy his way out of purgatory? There is no wrong way to experience The Last Resort – and no way to see it all in a single visit.
"Even for guests who've been to The Last Resort before, there's an entirely new world waiting for them," said Producer Sarah Closson. "This experience is designed so the story exists everywhere at once. Audiences aren't just watching – they're shaping their own journey and discovering moments that only emerge when they lean into curiosity. Guests can come back again and again and still find something new."
Guests are encouraged to arrive early for a special pre-show experience beginning one hour before each performance, with a 30-minute post-show experience to follow. Entry is through the Tiki Bar.
The Last Resort runs for ten performances across four Sundays – February 1,8,15, and 22, 2026 – with matinee performances at 2 PM and evening performances at 8 PM, plus two special Friday the 13th themed shows at 7 PM and midnight. The experience takes place at The Waldorf (1489 E Hastings St).
Tickets start at $75 and are available via the Last Resort portal at dreamqueenimmersive.com. Each ticket includes a souvenir lei, two drinks or three mocktails, and access to the one-hour pre-show and half-hour post-show experiences.
Content Advisory: The Last Resort is an immersive theatre experience for adults 19+. The show humorously, ironically, thoughtfully, and at times gruesomely explores themes of untimely death. It includes metaphorical sexual scenarios and depictions of self-harm. Viewer discretion is advised. Guests control their level of immersion and may move freely throughout the space within house guidelines.
Guests are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and dress for the 1971 cruise they never got to complete.
